Landchecker maps train & tram activity centres to pinpoint growth opportunities

Property intelligence platform Landchecker has integrated the Train and Tram Zone Activity Centres Program (Victoria) into its platform, giving developers instant access to the latest planning data on where housing and employment growth is being encouraged.

The Victorian Government’s initiative aims to address the state’s housing supply by focusing new development around 60 key train and tram zones across Melbourne, supporting more sustainable, accessible, and liveable communities.

For developers, the addition of these mapped activity centres means faster identification of high-potential sites and smarter, data-driven purchase decisions. Landchecker users can now view the draft activity centres alongside existing planning layers - including the Housing Choice & Transport Zone (HCTZ) and Built Form overlays - to understand planning intent, assess feasibility, and identify locations aligned with strategic growth areas.

“When policy changes like this are announced, developers need access to accurate information fast,” said Adam Gandolfo, CEO of Landchecker.

“We move quickly to integrate new data into the platform so our users can make confident decisions based on the most current planning information available.”

Landchecker’s commitment to providing timely, reliable data ensures its users stay ahead of market shifts and planning updates.

“This is a great example of how technology can turn complex planning information into something instantly useful,” Gandolfo added.

“Our goal is to make it easier for property professionals to see where opportunity exists and act on it.”

This new functionality offers a powerful edge in a fast-evolving environment - helping professionals focus on the sites that will shape Victoria’s future growth.
